“I have always been fascinated with beautiful objects. My mother used to make all my dresses and I insisted on picking the fabric – drawn by the feel of the fabric as well as the color and pattern.”   Born in Southeast Asia, Lien Luu graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. After a brief career as a software engineer, Lien returned to her first love – design – and obtained a BFA from the San Diego School of Interior Design. “My math background has helped my understanding of proportion, as well as how to budget and maintain a project.”   In 1994, Lien moved to Manhattan and spent ten years working for some of the leading interior design firms in New York. While in their employ, she worked with many high-profile clients and traveled the world both for business and pleasure. In 2005 she established her own studio, Lien Luu, Ltd.

Lien’s lifelong passion for art, beautiful objects and design has informed all her projects, producing environments renowned for their perfect proportion and subtle yet rich sense of color.   Today, Lien Luu, Ltd has clients spanning the globe, with scope ranging from a cavernous Tribeca loft, a country estate in upstate New York, to a glamorous waterfront villa in Anguilla. Lien Luu has been creating beautiful environments for almost 15 years. While Lien favors a modern classic approach – with the emphasis on subtlety, grace and calm, she is fearless in blending periods to produce an end result that is stylish and refined. Lien’s interiors are unique and capture the integrity of the project space and the client’s lifestyle.
